WHAT IS A LEMON?
Simply put, under California Lemon Law a "lemon" is a vehicle that has some mechanical problem that the dealer just hasn't fixed. Sometimes the problem does not occur when your car is in the shop (and you are told "problem not found"). Sometimes the mechanic experiences the problem, but hasn't fixed it or it doesn't "stay" fixed.
Under California Lemon Law, if your car's problem "substantially impairs" the "use, value or safety" of your vehicle, you have a lemon. And you have rights. What are they? Click on "Your rights" to find out.
